You're Wendy. You've just opened the game Don't Starve, and your handy cheat is your ghost sister Abigail. Great, now you can fight the boss Muzan.
You've been powered up. Get in there.jpg
In Don't Starve, monsters attack at night. In Demon Slayer, demons attack at night.
In Don't Starve, spiders cluster around their nests and swarm you. In Demon Slayer, there's Mount Natagumo.
Don't Starve has wormholes that let you teleport, and tentacles underground that can teleport you if you defeat them. The Infinity Castle has our very own teleporting NPCs, except you can't choose where you end up.
Wendy has a twin sister, Abigail. Muichiro has a twin brother, Yuichiro.
How could there be such a coincidence!
This must be a mod made by some expert. I bow down in awe.
Although she's ended up in an unfamiliar world, fortunately, she can still apply the familiar formulas.
Kamado Tanjiro: Big bro! Why'd you stop selling charcoal? *sob*... I could've bought charcoal without the hassle, but now I can only set fire to the mountain. Hehe.
Hashibira Inosuke: I don't care if it's a mask. If it looks like a pig and says "You're a good person" when you feed it, then it's a Pigman.
Tokito Muichiro: Twins. The younger brother. The older brother is gone. I get it, my counterpart. Wendy, twins. The older sister is gone. See? It's the same.
The Butterfly sisters: Oh, they're not real butterflies, so we can't catch them. Haha, well, that's awkward.
Rengoku Kyojuro: I mean, it has the shape and color of fire, and it's even spewing flames as an effect... Why can't it be used as a fire pit?
Chachamaru (Tamayo's cat): What do you mean I can't target it to attack? I just wanted a cat tail. What do you mean, "I knew it was a creature more evil than a demon"?
The Kasugai Crows: We even set traps, so why can't we catch those crows? We just want to put them in a birdcage and trade them for items. We have all kinds of meat and vegetables... What do you mean they're not stupid enough to jump into a net for a single seed?
Rui's spider family: I get it, I get it. Spider warriors, nurse spiders, broken spiders, spider queens. Haha, there's not even a nurse spider to heal us. Inosuke, go! Sister, go! What do you mean their health bars never go down and we need special weapons?
Hantengu: Sorry, the world settings have lightning disabled. You know how it is. What if a spring thunderstorm starts a wildfire and burns down my house? It's not like rain can revive all the flowers and plants I've gathered. It's no big deal, I'll just rebuild my home and give up on that part of the experience. You mean your power is to summon lightning and strike people?
Gyokko: Sorry, I think the best art is using the shards of your smashed pot to reinforce my little boat.
1. [The first two chapters are being rewritten.] The original first two chapters were in the first person, alternating between Wendy's first-person perspective and Demon Slayer characters' third-person perspectives. I got carried away writing the Don't Starve content, and it didn't feel like she'd entered the Demon Slayer world. It felt more like a post about playing Don't Starve, so I'm fixing it right away.
2. This is a practice piece. My previous work, Wisteria Flowers, hasn't been updated for years, and I'm rusty. I originally planned to write that practice piece about the next generation of Demon Slayer. But then: Don't Starve, launch! I wanted to try writing a Fourth Calamity story, introducing outside influences into the Demon Slayer world. I'm not sure if people who've never played Don't Starve will understand it. Let me know, and I'll decide whether to add notes or explain things in the story.
3. I'm also a Don't Starve beginner, so there won't be any expert-level plays. I can't even build a proper base; I just dump stuff all over the ground with no organization. Abigail will take care of everything anyway.
4. Any skills beyond Wendy's character abilities should be treated as mods. Actually, I'm new to Steam, too. My understanding of a mod is that it's a fan-made enhancement. I've also seen people explain that mods are like fanfiction, and that makes a lot of sense.
5. No CP. Wendy the player is sistersexual (x).
6. The characters belong to the original work. Any out-of-character behavior is on me.
Theme: Family is the safest harbor.
The writing was a bit self-indulgent, focusing too much on famine, and it felt like it didn't reflect the shock of the Demon Slayer aborigines being hit by the fourth natural disaster. And I didn't write the first person well, so I'd better switch to the third person. Now that there are only a few chapters, overturn and rewrite it.
I'm looking forward to it... The story of my sister and my brother! [Spread flowers] Looking forward to my sister taking action
