Tan Yang owns a little restaurant. He's a good cook, but competition in the food business is fierce, so he took a side gig as a cooking influencer. His numbers stayed mediocre.
His manager suggested that since he was doing social media anyway, he might as well go all in.
So in one video, Tan Yang appeared on camera in a tight T-shirt and apron, then asked his manager, "Will this really make me popular?"

Now that his family had retired, an order suddenly came in from that same household.

But the client was worried that young people these days all used prepared food, so they asked him to cook on-site.
"No problem," Tan Yang said.

The person had flushed cheeks from sleeping and squinted at him for a long time before saying, "I didn't order a male escort."
Tan Yang paused, then lifted the free-range chicken in his bag.
"We're not having duck today."
