At the 2013 Spring High tournament, an unknown school from Miyagi Prefecture stole the spotlight.
In a post-match interview, Oikawa Toru, the captain who had stolen the hearts of countless high school girls, flashed a double peace sign at the camera and smiled brightly:
“I’d especially like to thank Aoba Johsai track and field club president Nakamura Kenichiro for his generous contribution. Our volleyball club wouldn’t have achieved this glory without him~”
“...Damn it! Oikawa Toru, you bastard! This is too much!!!”
In the Aoba Johsai track and field clubroom, the members crowded around the TV, desperately holding back their president, who was furious enough to smash it.
“Kenichiro, calm down! The TV’s innocent! Wait until Oikawa gets back, then beat him to death!”
“Vice president! This is not the time to egg him on!”
After their grandfather died, the older brother he depended on was tricked by a handsome white-haired guy into going to a religious school in Tokyo.
Itadori Yusei chose to stay behind in their hometown alone and enrolled at Aoba Johsai, the school farthest from home.
He thought that way he could quietly remain part of the “go-home club” crowd, just like he had in middle school.
But someone recognized him on the very first day of school...
“Hey, hey! Was that... Itadori Yusei who just walked by?!”
“Who’s that?”
“The younger of the two Itadori brothers from Nishi Middle!”
“Ugh! That nickname is so lame!”
“The Itadori who supposedly ran fifty meters in three seconds?”
“That’s ridiculous!”
“I heard he can casually jump as high as a four-story building!”
“?? Is he even human?”
“I think they even call him the second coming of Mirko Filipovic!”
“Mirko isn’t even dead yet!”
On the first day of his senior year, during club recruitment day, Oikawa Toru’s good friend, the track and field club president, told him all about an allegedly super famous underclassman.
As his friend described the kid in increasingly outrageous terms, he got more and more excited, swearing he’d bring the underclassman into the club no matter what.
Oikawa Toru rubbed his chin and decided to get to him first. Whether any of it was true could wait!
And so, Oikawa Toru cheerfully launched into a “fight for the underclassman” against his friend of three years, a battle only he knew was happening.
“Yusei! Come play volleyball! Oikawa-senpai will make you shine on the court~”
PS:
1. Aoba Johsai is the home team, and they will make it to Spring High.
2. The male lead is Itadori Yuji’s younger brother. The Jujutsu Kaisen setting is a friendly parallel world where Geto Suguru never went bad.
