Just Playing Favorites [Entertainment Industry]

- Blurb -

Chi Yanqing has been in the entertainment industry for ten years. In that time, she has swept the country's three major film awards, yet she's always been both famous and controversial.

She never received formal training and had no connections. She's made it this far on talent and hard work alone.

But her former agency, Guangyao Media, was utterly shameless. When she won her third award, they wanted her to change direction and started diverting resources to promote younger rising stars instead.

With her contract nearing its end, Guangyao Media thought it could use its capital to keep Chi Yanqing in line once again. Then the unexpected happened.

Wen Qi, president of Xingsheng, Guangyao's longtime rival, approached Chi Yanqing of his own accord.

"Miss Chi, I have a business proposal. Would you be interested?"

A week later, the media, which had been focused on Chi Yanqing's contract with her former agency, Guangyao, were stunned.

Wen Qi posted an update on social media.

"Miss Chi, I look forward to working with you." [Marriage certificate]

Netizens were stunned.

"What kind of crackship is this?!"

Wen Qi and Chi Yanqing had a contract marriage. Using that as a pretext, Chi Yanqing turned around, kicked her shameless former agency to the curb, and signed with Xingsheng.

Netizens, always eager for gossip, began following the two of them.

Then they discovered that after leaving Guangyao, Chi Yanqing had unbelievably good resources, and President Wen seemed to want to show Chi Yanqing off to the whole world.

Finally, with their contract nearly up, Chi Yanqing couldn't help asking,

"President Wen, why are you putting a diamond ring on my left ring finger?"

Wen Qi remained perfectly composed.

"Can't you tell? I want to renew our contract."
