Something's Not Right with My Mother

Content warning: This is a story about a mother and daughter who are not related by blood, with a touch of mystery.

Xu Mengzhen thinks her mother has been replaced. In her memories, her mother is called Xu Qingyan, a gentle, loving woman who can be a little absent-minded at times, but lets her do whatever she wants.

But after a car accident killed her father and left her in a coma, she woke to find that her mother had become Xu Qingyan. This woman is like a thorny rose, breathtakingly beautiful, with a temperament completely unlike her mother's. In public, she puts on the appearance of a loving mother, but in private, she is extremely controlling and has tried several times to kill her. She even says outright that she likes the timid look on Xu Mengzhen's face when she is terrified.

Xu Mengzhen thinks Xu Qingyan must be a wicked woman after their family's fortune. She just doesn't know why everyone insists she's wrong.

She secretly takes some of Xu Qingyan's hair to get a DNA test, confirming that they are not related by blood, but her family and friends still think Xu Qingyan is a good person.

Xu Mengzhen thinks her family and friends have all been bought off by Xu Qingyan. If she can't rely on anyone else, she'll have to rely on herself.

You like seeing me afraid and want to turn me into an obedient dog?

Fine, Xu Qingyan. I'll make you cry and beg beneath me.

(The core story will stay the same, though the setting may be adjusted slightly.)

Theme: Though a thousand trials and blows may batter me, I remain steadfast, whatever the winds from east, west, north, or south.
