Reserved Older Brother × Rebellious Younger Sister
At eighteen, Jiang Chun did the most rebellious thing of her life.
She fell in love with her older brother, Xue Qing.
That same winter, Jiang Chun lost her home.
She knocked on Xue Qing's door: a shabby, rundown rental room.
"Xue Qing, let me stay with you."
Those were the first words eighteen-year-old Jiang Chun said to twenty-year-old Xue Qing.
Clean, pure, and youthful.
That was twenty-year-old Xue Qing's first impression of eighteen-year-old Jiang Chun.
The cramped rental room felt even smaller after Jiang Chun moved in.
It was the poorest year of Xue Qing's life.
But Jiang Chun stayed anyway.
A wall stood between them,
yet it also drew their hearts closer.
Later, Jiang Chun moved out, just as she had arrived: taking nothing with her.
She couldn't remember what happened that day, only how cold Xue Qing had been.
"Leave."
It was the first time Xue Qing had ever spoken harshly to Jiang Chun.
He thought someone like her shouldn't have to suffer alongside him.
*
They once watched the snow together. Snowflakes drifted past them, and Jiang Chun tried to catch them, but always came up empty-handed.
"Brother, do you know? You're a lot like snow."
Xue Qing smiled and asked why, but Jiang Chun only shook her head.
Later, Jiang Chun watched the snow alone. Xue Qing was no longer beside her, but she still couldn't catch a snowflake.
Gazing at the snow filling the sky, Jiang Chun suddenly missed Xue Qing terribly.
At last, she could finally say what she had meant all those years ago:
"Brother, you're like snow. Neither of you is easy to catch."
But in the end, Jiang Chun caught hold of that winter, and of her "snow."
