Elder Companion

The previous emperor dies of illness. A child ascends the throne, surrounded by wolves.

Outside the palace, a powerful minister entrusted with the young emperor's care holds the Son of Heaven hostage to command the lords. Inside, the empress dowager and her relatives interfere in the affairs of state.

Everyone tells him he is the most revered emperor, but no one listens to him.

With no one to rely on, the only person who can stay by his side and protect him is his chief eunuch. And so the story begins...

A short scene 1:

"Brother, I like you. Will you be with me?"

"Your servant is willing."

That very night, the chief eunuch climbed into the young emperor's bed.

The young emperor was delighted that the chief eunuch had made the first move, but the next morning, a bucket of cold water was thrown over him:

"If Your Majesty wants your servant, then of course your servant must oblige. But my status is lowly. To serve Your Majesty just once is already an honor beyond measure."

"Huh? If I want you, you'll give yourself to me? What if someone else wants you? Would you give yourself to them, too?"

"Of course not. You are my master."

"Fine, Shen Yujie. Very good. What if I weren't your master? Would you still do the same?"

"..."

"You're going to be the death of me."

A short scene 2:

It was this cruel world that made him the way he is. If he doesn't understand, I have all the time in the world to teach him:

"Brother, look. I feel pain when I get sick, I bleed when my skin breaks, and I'll die when I grow old. I'm no different from you."

"I'm so lonely, Brother. Could you stop looking up at me all the time? Come sit beside me and hold me."

"Brother, you took my innocence. Are you going to refuse to take responsibility now?"

He deserves it. No one in this world deserves it more.

He is the only warmth I have in this imperial palace. He understands nothing, yet he is willing to do anything for me.
