[JX3] Playing Sweet Potato in the Chaos of the Tang Dynasty

What's a "sweet potato"?

It's probably someone who was saying "GWW, give us our money back" one second, then watched the anniversary video and started sobbing, "Jian 3, please stay alive."

Tang Jiangmian was one of them.

One moment she was watching the music video for the game's sixteenth anniversary song, crying her eyes out. The next, she had transmigrated, landing in Chang'an just as the An Lushan Rebellion was breaking out.

The good news: she brought along a golden finger, the Jian 3 System, a standard transmigration freebie.

The bad news: all her levels had been reset.

After surviving by the skin of her teeth, she gazes at this era and sighs. Oh well, since she's here, she might as well make the best of it.

What did a peaceful and prosperous age look like?

It was nothing more than this:

The dawn watch is announced by the red-capped rooster keeper, while the palace wardrobe presents a robe of emerald clouds.

The sun and moon open the celestial path, and the rulers of ten thousand nations bow before the imperial crown. [1]

But the An Lushan Rebellion destroyed it all. All Tang Jiangmian sees is a shattered land, its people displaced and suffering.

Those who love her, and those she loves, are all denied peace.

"I don't want to be the helpless person I used to be, watching from behind a screen."

With twin swords in hand, Tang Jiangmian points them at the greedy, savage schemers who sow chaos, and refuses to back down another step.

She laughs and sighs, no longer wavering.

"Get ready to welcome the best player in the world, Great Tang."

She will make this world see once more

what a truly prosperous Great Tang looks like.

Reader's Notes:

1. This is a parallel world, and history differs from ours. Unless there's a logical bug, historical accuracy won't be addressed, so please don't nitpick.

2. Reading should be fun. If you stop enjoying it, know when to call it quits. You don't have to force yourself to keep reading.

3. [1] is from a poem by the Tang dynasty poet Wang Wei.

Theme: Even in troubled times, hold on to hope and never give up.
