Xu Yuncheng is an angler who can't catch fish. On the 49th day of getting skunked, he successfully hooked a fish with a human head.
"I'm a mermaid."
Nuo Er's gorgeous tail slapped the water hard, splashing Xu Yuncheng right in the face.
Xu Yuncheng wiped his face and lowered the phone he'd already dialed, ready to call the police.
Forget it. A mermaid is still a fish.
After a tremendous amount of effort, he finally dragged Nuo Er home, only to realize there wasn't a pot big enough to hold him.
So he huffed and puffed as he built a huge earthen stove in the yard. But the human-headed fish said the water wasn't hot enough and told him to turn up the fire.
"Switch it to a lavender bath bomb."
Nuo Er threw all the star anise and spices at Xu Yuncheng's head.
"And I'm a mermaid, not a human-headed fish."
He couldn't bite through him or boil him tender, and he couldn't bear to set him free, so Xu Yuncheng had no choice but to keep Nuo Er as an ornamental fish.
And as an ornamental fish, Nuo Er had excellent professional ethics. He let Xu Yuncheng touch him, hold him, and kiss him.
Nuo Er curled up in his arms as Xu Yuncheng stroked his beautiful tail, its scales glittering like jewels.
A pair of cool, slender hands suddenly gripped Xu Yuncheng's wrist and guided it upward.
"I told you, touch me here."
