While other vampires fight to the death over territory, he is still sleeping.

He sleeps so long that he loses all sense of time. When he finally wakes, roused by the gnawing hunger in his stomach, he pushes open the lid of his coffin and discovers that the world outside has long since changed beyond recognition. Humans have even evolved to have six genders.

Yu Mian: "...?"

What? What are alpha, beta, and omega supposed to be?

Before he can figure out what's going on, the intense burning in his stomach forces Yu Mian to go looking for food.

Half-crazed with hunger, Yu Mian wanders the streets until a powerful fragrance draws him to the entrance of a narrow alley.

It's an alpha in rut. The fragrance comes from his blood-scented pheromones.

Yu Mian clearly has no idea what's happening. All he knows is that the human in front of him smells delicious.

His nose brushes the back of the alpha's neck. In a daze, Yu Mian secretly bares his fangs. "Human... you smell so good..."

"Can I... have a bite?"

The alpha's expression is unreadable, and his voice is husky. "Are you... coming on to me?"

The boy before him has skin pale from never seeing the sun. His dark red eyes are dazzling, and his breathtaking beauty has an almost inhuman quality, like the mysterious, beautiful vampires of the night in old legends.

He presses his face against the back of Jiang Xu's neck, his cheeks flushed as he murmurs incoherently about "blood," "so hungry," and "want to bite."

As Jiang Xu hesitates, the scent of roses wafts into his nose. Omega pheromones. Only then does he realize the person in front of him is an omega in the middle of differentiation.

His strange behavior isn't because he wants to suck blood and feed. He's simply out of his mind during differentiation.

Jiang Xu frowns, grabs the omega by the back of his collar, and pulls him away. He is about to take him to the hospital before the suppressant wears off when the omega in his hand suddenly lets out a couple of sleepy little whimpers...

Then, right before his eyes, he turns into a tiny bat.

It's so small it looks like a baby, soft and fluffy as it curls up in his palm, like a little black plush keychain.

Jiang Xu: "?"

It takes Jiang Xu a little while to accept that the little omega he brought home is a vampire.

He starts taking care of the little vampire.

Yu Mian buries his face in the covers, trying to fool himself into avoiding his alpha's professional class. He even turns himself into what he thinks is an ugly little bat. He doesn't expect the alpha to casually tuck him into his jacket pocket and bring him along to class, where he curls up in the alpha's palm for the whole lesson.

Yu Mian: (눈_눈)

Day N+1 in his new home.

Yu Mian goes into heat, and the alpha forcibly gives him a shot of suppressant. Now he can't smell the alpha's sweet pheromones.

Yu Mian pouts, deeply displeased, and secretly thinks that once he gets his powers back, he'll make this alpha the lowest-ranking blood slave.

Then a long-missed, sweet, rich scent of blood wafts from the kitchen. The alpha calls to him, "Mianmian, come here."

Yu Mian changes his tune in an instant. He patters over to the kitchen and carefully sucks and licks the alpha's cut finger. Once he's had his fill, he sweetly says, "Thank you, gege~ I like you best, gege~"

Day N+2 in his new home.

Yu Mian and his keeper begin an epic romance between a human and a ghost, worlds apart. But every time they kiss, Yu Mian secretly uses his sharp fangs to cut the alpha's tongue and get himself a little treat.

Until one day, the alpha refuses to kiss him. Yu Mian angrily demands to know why, and the alpha tells him that the spot Yu Mian cut during their last kiss has turned into a canker sore, and it hurts.

Yu Mian guiltily looks away and stops asking for kisses for a while.
