The main story of the Thousand Miles series. Chapters 1-9 mainly follow the Cang Yun/Tian Ce pairing.
Two disillusioned men, one from Yanmen and the other from Beimang, cross paths through their duties as soldiers and a twist of fate. Together, they flee a pursuit by the enemy.
The companionship and protection that follow give Shen Yanbin and Di Yixi hope for one another's survival, and offer them another chance to live again in spirit.
The pain of the past remains, but countless new possibilities await them ahead.
Meanwhile, He Qingyao and Xiao Jingxuan, briefly removed from the bloody battles of the martial world around Yumen Pass, find themselves on a new and treacherous battlefield. Former martial brothers estranged by their differences in principle, and partners divided by their outlook on life, temporarily join forces to fight their common enemy, the Langya Army.
Beneath the same sky, on this vast desert plain, some rifts gradually mend while others grow wider. Fierce conflict can sometimes change the course of fate, or even bring two people closer.
But the future is always hard to predict. They face matters of life and death, love, and even more important choices beyond them.
Theme: In a turbulent age, helping one another will eventually lead you to the person who was destined to wait for you.
