The Princess Consort Left with a Divorce Letter

The Prince spent every night in Auntie Liu's room, while I dressed up in finery every night and kept vigil alone in an empty room.

I asked Chuntao, "Have I done something wrong all these years?"

With tears in her eyes, Chuntao said, "Before you married, life in the manor was so much easier for you."

--

I stood outside the prince's manor and waited all day, only for Auntie Liu to tell me with a raised brow that the prince would not be coming back anytime soon.

I returned to my room and looked at the divorce letter the prince had written, then remembered what my father had said in his letter.

In the end, I made the choice everyone thought was right.

I took the divorce letter and left the prince's manor.

He was so clever. He wanted me to live, so I would grant his wish.
