Lin Mo grew up in the chaotic Lower City. Like millions of others, she was ordinary, unremarkable, and hardworking.
She followed her late parents' advice and stayed away from the battlefield, seeking a stable life. After graduating, she worked diligently for several years and finally landed a secure job.
Good news: she landed a job. Bad news: it was in prison.
And not just any prison, but an isolated island facility cut off from the outside world, holding serious offenders and leaving its staff unreachable as soon as they clocked in.
Behind a pane of reinforced glass, Lin Mo sometimes wondered: Who was really the one behind bars?
Oh well. She would make do. At least the job was stable.

Lin Mo's spirit form was a great tree.
Whether it was the slick-talking red fox,
the vicious, brutal hyena,
the proud, aloof white tiger,
or the sinister, cold black snake,
none of them could harm the tree!
Being a prison guard and moonlighting as a guide, Lin Mo felt that when her boss asked her to be more selfless, that ought to come with extra pay.

Later, booming artillery blasted open the gates of Talros Prison.
Smoke filled the air, war erupted, and the Federation's rule crumbled.
So much for stability. She'd lost her job.
With a mournful sigh, Lin Mo packed up and rowed away amid the chaos of gunfire.
Unfortunately, a sudden gale whipped up at sea and swept her into a maelstrom. She passed out.
When Lin Mo awoke, a Redemption System had appeared in her mind.
The System told her to use love and warmth to redeem the cold, broken hearts of those sentinels.
Lin Mo was speechless. You're only telling me this now?!
Now, one was a crime lord, one a newly appointed prince of a neighboring country, one the leader of a ruthless rebel army, and one a mysterious assassin.
Which one of them was supposed to need some warmth? Given their history with her, she was afraid those sentinels would tear her apart if they went crazy.
Looking at the progress bar, which was already more than halfway black, the System didn't dare make a sound. It trembled in fear.
Lin Mo had no idea.
After that day, amid the ruins of Talros, they kept searching for a great tree covered in white blossoms.
