Looking for a Story About a Little Palace Maid Working Her Way Up

I want a story about gradually leaving the palace, settling down, starting a business, and so on, or about managing household rivalries and gradually pursuing one's dreams. Something about running a shop, with a couple and a cozy domestic life. A golden finger is fine, but nothing too over-the-top. Small-town, homey-life stories are what I'm after.
