I want to read something similar to The Dead Man's Sacrifice. The following is purely my personal opinion: supernatural novels after the crackdown are not as good as they used to be. Most of them just follow feng shui formulas, and even when they do not, the writing is still worse than it was before 2019. This book was completed in 2016, and it is more enjoyable than most supernatural novels.
