I've been reading Schopenhauer's books recently, especially the first one, and I'm very impressed. The "vulgarity" (or translated as "gregarious") in his words refers to a kind of spiritual drift: in order to gain a sense of belonging and security, one constantly smoothes one's edges and suppresses one's thoughts to cater to the tastes of the public and the noise of society. In this state, people will fall into endless socializing, chatting and superficial entertainment, but they may feel empty inside. Cognition determines value - the "filter" through which you see the world determines what you can see. Read the third book and you will come back and thank me. There is also a book called Crazy Dopamine. I don't know why I can't find it. You can search it yourself and read it. It is helpful to open the book.
