A Seven-Year-Old in the 1970s: I Take My Nine Sisters to University

Su Heguang, a fifty-three-year-old veteran cadre, died suddenly of a heart attack. When he opened his eyes, he was back on the very first day of his life in 1970!

In his previous life, his nine older sisters worked themselves to the bone so he could make something of himself, while a vicious old woman and parasitic relatives squeezed them dry. His eldest sister had her leg broken and died in agony; his third sister died in childbirth along with her baby; his fifth sister spent half her life selling sweet potatoes on the street... He climbed his way up on the blood and tears of his nine sisters, only to grow old burdened by unshakable guilt.

Reborn, he opened his eyes to find his biased grandmother trying to take the dowry his eldest sister had saved for three years to pay for his full-month celebration.

Faced with feudal oppression, Su Heguang couldn't even talk yet, but he sneered, kicked off his ragged cotton quilt, and deliberately gave himself a fever by freezing. With a bloodcurdling wail and a brush with death that let him "escape through illness," he forced the vicious old woman to lock the money back in the cabinet that very night, saving the most precious thing his eldest sister had!

Preferring sons to daughters? Parasitic relatives? Village bullies?

Hidden inside a baby's body, Su Heguang used the hard-won experience of fifty-three years and the most childish voice to lay the cruelest traps, leading his nine sisters step by step to learn to read, start side businesses, and escape their dead ends.

Then came 1977, when the college entrance examination was reinstated. The whole family sold everything they had to obtain the one and only recommendation slot.

In front of the entire commune, seven-year-old Su Heguang tore the recommendation form to shreds and dropped to his knees on the yellow earth, eyes bloodshot. "The whole family can only support me? I'd rather die! Give my sisters all the application money!"

In this life, not one of my nine sisters' college admission letters can be missing!
