My Delivery Station Connects the Yin and Yang Worlds, and from the Start I Deliver Good News of Meritorious Service

After being medically discharged, Xu Zhaochuan took over the old neighborhood courier station his grandfather had left behind.

On a stormy night, an eighteen-year-old young man placed a damaged commendation notice and half a frozen potato on the counter.

"Comrade, please send these back to Sichuan. Tell my mother I didn't run away."

The shipment date on the waybill: 1950.

Seventy-five years passed. His mother had already died, but his ninety-year-old younger sister still remembered that her brother owed her half a bun.

The commendation notice had barely been delivered when a second package arrived: a wind-up rabbit with one bent ear. The sender was a police officer who had died in the line of duty three years earlier; the recipient was the daughter whose birthday he had never gotten to celebrate with her.

Among the keepsakes were everyday words left unsaid, along with old clues that could help continue the investigation.

From knocking on the doors of one household after another to establishing contact through the relevant departments, there were only two things Xu Zhaochuan never took lightly: confirming the address and getting the name right.
