The Ledger of Heaven's Principles

A sharp-tongued, streetwise young heir to an undertaker's shop just wants to escape Funeral Street and sell off his family's ancestral pawnshop to scrape together a down payment. Carrying deep wounds from a childhood ghost marriage that left him bereaved and estranged from his grandfather, he is forced into action when a red moon exposes loopholes in the rules and strange tales descend upon the world. To survive, find the grandfather the whole world has forgotten, and protect Ghost Market Street, he must take charge of the Yin-Yang Pawnshop, where everything has an equivalent price. He faces one folk horror after another, each following rules and devouring people, as well as black-market rivals and even the "Nameless," whose value cannot be appraised by any rule. In the end, he pays a price and grows from "the one who keeps accounts" into "the one who makes the rules."
