My Years as a Yin-Yang Tattoo Artist on Chang'an Street

My surname is Shen, and I run a tattoo shop called “Life, Death, and Fortune” on Chang'an Street.

My grandfather passed down a sinister craft: the needle goes three tenths of an inch into the skin, the thread connects the worlds of yin and yang, and it can change one's fortune, extend one's lifespan, and sever karma.

Before he died, Grandfather left me just one warning: “Don't use this craft to make money, or you'll attract things you shouldn't.”

I listened for eight years, until one night a woman drenched from head to toe stood at the shop entrance and asked for a tattoo of the Other Shore flower. I saw three bloody handprints on her back: the marks of a drowned ghost.

From that day on, stranger and stranger people came looking for me, and more and more strange things happened around me.

Then I discovered that Grandfather's disappearance, the three car crashes in Tangwazi ten years ago, and every occult shop on this street all pointed to the same buried case of a life-swapping ritual.
