A Civil Engineering Student Rents My Spare Room, So I Turned the Girl Across the Hall into a Novel's Heroine

"What future is there in drawing romance comics when you study civil engineering?"

To earn his tuition, Su Shu, a second-year civil engineering student, moved out of the dorm and into the spare bedroom at a relative's place.

By day, he calculated structural load diagrams by hand at Nanyu University. By night, he became the mysterious comic artist "Nanzhi," serializing the urban romance comic The Seventh Heartbeat in the spare room.

His backlog was running out and the deadline was closing in, so he casually turned his everyday life into a source of material:

Xu Zhiwei, a rigorous, cool-headed young professor of mechanics, became the icy female lecturer at the front of his classroom.

Lin Lu, the down-and-out, proud actress living across the hall, became an actress who'd been replaced and dropped from a production.

Even the fat cat at home, "Tractor," who hogged the drawing tablet all day, became the comic's mascot.

Who could have known the comic would go viral across the internet, and that the real-life heroines would show up at his door with magnifying glasses?

Lin Lu leaned against the elevator doors. "That folded corner on the paper cup's lid... You even drew the time I spilled water and burned my finger?"

Professor Xu rapped the blackboard. "Su Shu, you've drawn the negative moment reinforcement in the continuous beam wrong again."

His relative pushed the door open with a bowl of hot soup. "Su Shu, I heard Nanzhi is a woman. Do you know her?"

At the very center of the online love polygon, Su Shu gripped his drawing pen tightly.

Don't ask. I was just organizing reference material for an outsourced architecture project!
