The Second Kal'tsit in Arknights

Here's what happened.

One perfectly ordinary night, Closure kicked open the door to the medical bay and yelled at all of Rhodes Island:

"Kal'tsit!!! There's someone here who looks exactly like you!!!!!!"

And then the whole ship went into an uproar.

Fourteen years old. Gray-white hair. Thin as a sheet of paper. A curved smile at the corner of her mouth, one Kal'tsit didn't have.

Three people in tattered clothes knelt by the bed, having watched over her for two years and three months. They called her the "Pontiff." They said she'd built five Mobile Cities on the icy wastes of Sami. They said she'd sleep for years, wake for a few days, then sleep for years again. Every time she woke, she'd forgotten everything, and every time she led them all forward again.

Then she collapsed, startled by the sound of a gunshot.

Her palm was smooth, without calluses or scars. It was a hand that had never been used.

Kal'tsit turned that hand over and studied it for a long time. When she finally laid it back down, she moved as gently as if touching something fragile.

"When she wakes, let Amiya be the first to see her."

"Why Amiya?" Warfarin asked, holding up a blood-draw needle.

"Because Amiya won't stick a needle into her. And Amiya won't want to take her apart for research."

Warfarin: "..."

Closure: "...Who are you talking about?"

Everyone on Rhodes Island was guessing: a little sister? A clone? A spare from the previous civilization? Or some "past" Kal'tsit had kept hidden for ten thousand years, something even she couldn't bring herself to acknowledge?
