Arknights: Officer Chen, Your Sister’s in the Slums

Something went wrong when I transmigrated to Terra. There was supposed to be only one child, but she and I were born together.

She is Ch'en. A senior inspector with the Lungmen Guard Department. Born into a distinguished family, admired by everyone.

Me? A nameless loan shark in the slums. Everyone calls me “X,” because “you’re not worth a whole letter.”

When I was six, I saw her face for the first time on a street poster.

That day, I started wearing a hat.

More than twenty years have passed.

She has never once looked at me.

Not until I was hauled into an interrogation room as the “head of a loan-sharking syndicate” and took off my hat

“Look up.”

“…I won’t.”

“Why are you afraid to let me see you?”

“Because I don’t want you to know there’s another you in this world.”

The moment the brim of my hat was lifted, the interrogation room fell silent.

For the first time, she saw another person in the mirror.
