The Taste of Terra, and More Than Just Food

[Transmigrating to Terra, livestreaming to make money, and saving the operators' stomachs along the way]

My name is Chen Nian. It's my 37th day since transmigrating to Terra, and I'm crouched in Lungmen's Lower City, gnawing on a piece of black bread hard enough to kill someone.

Then I discovered that my phone had the complete collection of A Bite of China saved on it.

So I sold a video about matsutake mushrooms to a secondhand goods dealer and earned my first pot of gold. Then I started a livestream called “A Bite of Terra,” filming hotpot, noodles, and soup dumplings from the Precursor era. Later, I open-sourced Douyin's source code, and Terra got its own short-video platform. Later still, my company had over a hundred employees, and a single livestream could earn hundreds of thousands of Lungmen Dollars.

I thought I could just keep making money like this, until

Kal'tsit showed up at my door. The Reunion Movement started giving me trouble. The Doctor left comments in my livestream chat using an alt account. The Rat King sat beneath my apartment building, chewing candied hawthorns, and didn't move for a whole month.

Now all of Terra is watching my videos.

But I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
