Tidal-Flat Livestream: Grandma Says One Word, and the Whole Internet Searches for Her

I quit my job and took my 78-year-old grandma to forage for seafood along China's coastline.

I only meant to fulfill her wish, but then...

She casually said, "There's a big one in that water," and I caught a one-and-a-half-pound green crab with my bare hands.

She said, "That fish is farm-raised," and seafood streamers across the internet deleted their videos overnight.

She said, "Oysters go with old ginger," and a food documentary director chased us down three streets with a camera.

Grandma has an entire Illustrated Guide to the Sea's Oddities living in her head.

She can't recognize me, but she can identify every delicacy in the sea.

We livestreamed our 6,000-kilometer seafood-foraging journey from Liaoning to Hainan.

Our followers grew from zero to eight million, and every day the comments begged Grandma to "pick them."

But all she ever said to the camera was one thing:

"Find my grandson a wife."

The whole internet is helping Grandma find me a wife.

And my greatest wish is for her to see the "transparent sea" Grandpa told her about before she forgets me completely.

The hook in one sentence: She doesn't remember my name, but she remembers the taste of the sea. That's enough.
