Journey to the West: One Divination Picks the Generals, Ten Days to Place the Bet or Be Erased

The Eighty-One Tribulations were not decreed by fate. They were assigned one by one by the Registry of Tribulations in the Department of Destiny in the Celestial Court.

Gan Shouyue has no immortal status, no rank, and no divine powers. In the Celestial Court’s records, he is merely a number: “Bing Seven.” Yet the slips of tribulation he writes with his worn-out brush are ones even the Great Sage Equal to Heaven cannot tear through.

His divination asks neither for good fortune nor bad. It asks just one thing: who should face this tribulation?

If it is fulfilled within ten days, the achievement is entered into the register. If not, the name is struck from the Registry of Tribulations. It is not death, but as if the person had never existed.
