From Selling Scrap at the Seafood Market to Selling to the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Su Chen got into a lousy college, then asked his dad for 3,000 yuan to travel. His father refused.

With no other choice, Su Chen sold the family microwave and bought some tools.

In his bedroom, he hand-ground a chip from scratch and put it up for sale on the online marketplace.

“2,999 yuan, free shipping. I’m one yuan short of buying a computer.”

That afternoon, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences stared at the test results for a 3-nanometer carbon-based architecture chip, twenty years ahead of global technology, and suffered a heart attack on the spot!

“A chip of this caliber can’t even be made with the world’s most advanced lithography machine, yet it has file marks on it?!”

“Investigate immediately! This is surely the smuggling of the nation’s highest secrets. Deploy special forces if necessary, but find and arrest the contact!”

That night, fully armed special police broke down the door.

Su Chen’s dad was so frightened that he dropped the pair of Seven Wolves pants in his hands. He stared in bewilderment at his son, who was calmly eating spicy strips with a gun pointed at him.

“Officer, my son’s just a lousy student. He only sold a microwave, so why send in armed police?!”
