Sign? I’m Not Signing That

Doctors are judged by their results, officials by procedure. Chen Kang insists on having both.

A newcomer at the district health bureau and heir to a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, he refuses to protect himself at the expense of others. When a document raises questions, he puts down his pen.

He won't sign anything against his conscience, take dirty money, or let a single parasite suck the blood of patients.

One needle saves a life, one stroke of the pen seals a case. Step by step, he restores the foundations of community healthcare.

No one knows he's investigating not just corruption, but also the unresolved car accident that claimed his father's life twenty years ago.

From a township clinic to the National Health Commission, every document he signs honors both his conscience and the people. Reborn + officialdom + comeback + traditional Chinese medicine + political maneuvering + satisfying read + miracle doctor + humble beginnings
