Slapping the Tycoons Silly: The Village Chief's Stepmom Won't Stress Herself Out

[Mutual First Love + Cross-Frequency Comedy + Marriage Before Love, Tough-as-Nails Village Chief vs. Proud, Pure-Hearted Hero]

“Thirty million yuan to sponsor road construction, in exchange for you being my mute daughter’s stepmother for three months.”

Huo Ci, the young heir of Beijing’s elite circle, tossed out a check, his eyes full of arrogance.

Lin Dongmai, the youngest tough-as-nails village chief in the province, snatched it up and flicked it with her finger. “Deal! Remember to pay the full amount upfront!”

One contract, and the village chief from the backwoods set the Beijing elite circle straight.

On her first day in a wealthy household, the arrogant butler tried to cut the food budget. Lin Dongmai rolled up her sleeves and slapped him hard across the face. “Don’t give me that nonsense about the rules of the rich. On my turf, I make the rules!”

The next day, she audited the accounts and sent the butler off to prison.

When she found her timid sister-in-law crying in a corner after being bullied, she kicked the cheating scumbag husband flying. “Why are you crying? Take half his fortune, and let’s build your career together!”

For her stepdaughter, who had been traumatized into silence by family infighting, she hoisted a hoe and took the girl to dig for potatoes on a golf course where every inch was worth a fortune. “Dig! If we don’t find a big, fat sweet potato today, nobody’s eating dinner!”

The little girl, her face covered in mud, held up a potato and giggled as she said her first “Mama.”

Other stepmothers tread carefully in wealthy families. Lin Dongmai’s approach was to run the household with an iron fist and never waste energy on pointless infighting!

Three months later, the road-building funds came through, and Lin Dongmai dusted herself off and headed home in triumph.

But Huo Ci, who had always looked down on everyone, panicked. He flew a helicopter to the village entrance in the middle of the night.

“Lin Dongmai, you took my daughter farming and helped my sister-in-law build a career. When are you going to help me?”

Lin Dongmai rolled her eyes. “What, is your village short a village chief too?”
