Roots Beneath the Snow

Set against the stories of educated youth sent to Beidahuang, this novel explores the meaning of life and brings the deep bonds between siblings into the real world. In that era, those bonds were so pure. As China moved forward with reform and opening up, the generation of educated youth in Beidahuang became history. The protagonist has become a witness to that history, while the next generation are witnesses, reformers, and creators on this black soil.
