From the Start, I Refused the Marriage, but the God of War General Fell for Me at First Sight

“Even if I die, I’ll never marry some sickly, bookish maiden from one of those stuffy old families!” Huo Xiao, the borderlands’ feared god of war, sneered as he clutched the imperial edict arranging his marriage.

An imperial decree forced the notorious, ferocious brute and Shen Nanqiao, Chang’an’s foremost beauty, into marriage. The entire capital was waiting to laugh at this “lamb walking into a tiger’s den” spectacle!

But on the day they met, the noble lady rumored to be too weak to lift a chicken came charging on horseback in a red dress. She was not only versed in military strategy, but her icy retorts cut like knives. The living King of Hell had declared they would keep out of each other’s way, but the moment he saw what she could do, he fell for her completely! The ferocious tyrant turned into a stammering “bashful giant bear” in private. When his wife deliberately ignored him, he frantically imagined her family coming to punish him, then rushed out in the middle of the night with all their belongings to begin his clumsy pursuit of her.

Just as the great families prepared to watch the two tear each other apart, everyone was stunned to discover that the bloodstained, cold-faced god of war had cornered the talented beauty, eyes reddening as he asked, “My lady, you’ve ignored me for three days. When will you finally share a bed with your husband?”
