Reborn in 1940: The Five-Year-Old Little Darling Empties the Military Supply Depot

[Historical-era imaginative fiction + feel-good resistance-war story + adorable little girl protagonist + military-supply space + whole-village darling + face-slapping the worst sorts + outsmarting collaborators + building up the resistance base behind enemy lines + strong family bonds + lighthearted and stirring]

In her previous life, Jiang Tangdou was the chief architect of a top national defense logistics System, overseeing food, medicine, fuel, electricity, communications, and battlefield rescue.

When she opened her eyes again, she was a five-year-old little sweetheart at the foot of the Taihang Mountains in 1941.

Her mother had been slandered as a “mad woman fleeing famine,” her father had become a smelly beggar with a broken leg and amnesia, and her heartless great-aunt had even sold her to the family of a puppet village chief as a good-luck bride.

The whole village said, “That child has no parents. She won’t last three days.”

Jiang Tangdou blinked. “Sorry, I brought my ‘Nine-Warehouse Military Supply Space’ from my previous life.”

When others lacked food, she opened the warehouse and brought out coarse grains.

When others lacked medicine, she produced a first-aid kit.

When someone’s radio broke, she patted it with her little hand. “We can still save it.”

A collaborator wanted to turn her in for a reward?

Jiang Tangdou chirped, “Your account’s been banned.”

That very night, the puppet village chief’s account books landed in the guerrillas’ hands, the grain storehouse opened by itself, and even the gold bars hidden in the cellar grew legs and ran off.

The Japanese swept through the area, leaving the village without water or food, while the guerrillas were surrounded in a mountain ravine.

Jiang Tangdou slung a little cloth bag over her back and slipped through the blockade. When she returned, three mules, six carts of grain, two crates of medicine, half a radio, and a map of the enemy’s defenses followed behind her.

The regiment commander watched the little girl munching on a corn bun, his hands trembling. “Whose child is this?”

Jiang Tangdou grinned. “The nation’s.”

From then on, the Taihang base had a little darling no one dared to cross.
