After Three Years as Partners, the Big Shot in Maternal and Infant Products and I Went Public

Yun Shu is an attending obstetrician at City No. 1 Hospital. Her white coat conceals a gentle heart, while the scalpel in her hand stands for professional rigor. She tends the delivery room and welcomes new lives, having seen every side of human nature. Her life follows the same route between hospital and home, her heart devoted to patients and surgery. She never imagined she'd form a connection with the owner of a partner company beyond work. Gu Ze'an is the founder of Anshu, a premium local maternal and infant brand. He built his business from scratch into one of the industry's leaders. Steady and thoughtful, he has spent years cultivating partnerships with hospitals and met all kinds of medical staff, but Yun Shu alone captured his heart. At first, theirs was nothing more than a strictly professional relationship between client and supplier: coordinating hospital maternity-bag supplies, following up on clinical feedback about postpartum-care products, and co-hosting public classes for expectant mothers. He saw her finish three C-sections in a row, then lean exhausted against a wall to drink glucose; saw her crouch outside the delivery room, patiently soothing an anxious woman in labor as she held her hand; and saw her stand guard outside the neonatal unit until dawn, determined to save a premature baby born at twenty-eight weeks. She saw him carry samples through the wards, earnestly asking new mothers one by one what they thought of them; saw the kindness behind his quiet donation of complete sets of maternal and infant supplies to women in need; and saw his calm sense of responsibility as he coldly terminated a contract with a supplier caught cutting corners. Over three years of working together, they went from polite, distant business contacts to close friends who could talk about anything. Their feelings took root in every hot coffee delivered right on time, every ride home after working late, and every medical crisis they weathered together.
