The All-Powerful Expert Joins a Dating Show, and the Whole Internet Ships Them

Su Xingwan is known in the entertainment industry as a “troublemaker.” In five years since her debut, she has never taken a traffic-driven drama, staged a celebrity pairing, or even started a fan club, yet every show she appears in becomes a hit. The whole internet wonders who is backing her. She smiles calmly at the camera: “I’m my own backer.” Then a dating reality show forces her to join, pairing her with Gu Xiao, an “ordinary person” no one in the industry has ever heard of. During the first episode’s filming, Gu Xiao reaches over in front of the entire country and smooths down Su Xingwan’s turned-up collar, with the easy familiarity of someone who’s done it ten thousand times. The comments explode: “Those two definitely have something going on!” No one knows they’ve been secretly married for three years, or that Gu Xiao is the silent investor behind every one of Su Xingwan’s dramas and the unseen hand dealing with every scandal about her. And no one knows Gu Xiao agreed to join the dating show on one condition: “Put me on the same team as my wife.”
