Synopsis

[Obsessive, Possessive Power Broker vs. Deliciously Pretty, High-Maintenance Softie] On her ninth transmigration into a book, Ruan Anning chooses the mission “get killed.” The moment she opens her eyes, she sees the unhinged villain who has killed her eight times already causing trouble. Ruan Anning immediately shouts, “Stop! If you’re going to kill him, you’ll have to kill me first!” (Come on, come on! Give me a stab! Please!) The villain puts away his knife and replies, “...As you command, Your Majesty.” Ruan Anning: “You’re being so obedient. That doesn’t sound like you~” Gao Yan: “The Empress Dowager has only just awakened. This servant wouldn’t dare defy you.” Everything has gone wrong! This time, she’s transmigrated into Ruan Mianmian, a stunningly beautiful empress dowager who was widowed as soon as she entered the palace. Humiliated by the emperor, she killed herself and didn’t even rate as cannon fodder! This character was supposed to be gone for good, but now that she’s transmigrated into her, she’s come back from the dead! Everyone there except Gao Yan is trembling with fear. But there’s no time to worry about that. Getting herself killed is the priority! So she says haughtily, “You wouldn’t dare defy me? Then how about crawling over and licking my feet?” The room falls instantly silent, the awkwardness almost unbearable. Based on her previous experiences getting killed, the villain should be reaching for his knife... But instead, he says calmly, “The Empress Dowager has injured her head. She should return to her chambers and rest.” Before Ruan Mianmian can react, someone gags her and carries her away. That night, Ruan Mianmian is still so frustrated that she can’t sleep. The villain isn’t playing by the rules! To her surprise, Gao Yan suddenly appears before her. “Does what the Empress Dowager said earlier still stand?” Watching the villain’s handsome face draw closer and closer, his warm, damp breath making her scalp tingle, Ruan Mianmian is stunned. Wasn’t he supposed to be unhinged? Wasn’t he the villain? Why is something different this time...?

Any Original Stories? I’m Sick of These Same Old Popular Plots

Recommend some fresh, original fantasy novels. No mainstream tropes, no lousy rebirth stories, no urban novels where the protagonist shows off and bumps into a beauty around the corner, and no apocalyptic stories with superpowers or a System. Are there any fantasy novels outside those categories? Ideally, something with a fresh premise and theme.

In a Reading Slump With High Standards, Preferably Ancient Romance, Thank You 😊

I have high standards and don't like melodramatic plots. I'm looking for an ancient-era romance. Please avoid the trope where the male lead chases his wife after losing her.
