Help! Someone's Causing a Ruckus!

“Help! The humans are here!”

Late at night, in the basement of an apartment complex, a ghost clutched a child and trembled.

“Mommy, I’m scared...”

“Shh! Don’t make a sound! Someone’s coming!”

And that “someone” was Lin Yi, who had just been struck by lightning and was still completely bewildered.

Lin Yi: ???

Wait, you’re all ghosts. Why are you afraid of one human?

After being struck by lightning, Lin Yi could see ghosts.

He thought he was about to embark on some terrifying supernatural adventure. Instead, he discovered that:

Ghosts turned and ran the moment they saw a human.

The ghost world even had a dedicated “Human Threat Alert System.”

The first thing ghosts did when they got to work each day was check the “Human Activity Heat Map” and plan routes to avoid people.

The headline on ghost-world news was always: “Human density rising in this area. Avoid at all costs.”

When a ghost child misbehaved, his ghost mother would scare him with, “Keep that up and I’ll dump you somewhere crowded!”

And that wasn’t all

The ghost world even made “human-themed horror movies.”

Lin Yi watched as the humans in the movie, dressed in red, carrying flashlights and setting off firecrackers, scared a whole crowd of ghosts out of their wits.

He fell silent.

Later, the ghost-world authorities came to see him.

“Mr. Lin, we’d like to hire you as our Human Affairs Consultant.”

“The job is simple: help us understand human behavior and avoid accidental injuries.”

And so Lin Yi gained a new title: the ghost world’s only human liaison.

Or, as the ghosts put it

“Human traitor.”
