Journey to the West: From the Start, I'm a Centipede Demon, and I Cultivate to Sainthood by Shedding My Fate

After Ning An dies, he is reborn in the world of Journey to the West, only to discover that he has become a centipede larva beneath Yellow Flower Temple.

Yet this is a world of Journey to the West where immortals and Buddhas reign above, and demons and monsters run rampant.

A weak little insect is nothing but food for demons and poisonous material for a Daoist's furnace.

Fortunately, Ning An awakens the [Record of Shed Fates].

With every molt, he can deduce the future and seize a slender chance of survival.

[You have taken the place of the Hundred-Eyed Demon Lord, becoming one of the Eighty-One Tribulations of Journey to the West.]

[This molt grants you the golden Fate Eye, “Eye of the Natural Enemy.” You devour every poison, refine the remnant flames of the Golden Crow, reverse the destiny that leaves your centipede clan prey to birds, forge the Hundred-Eyed Dao Body, and become the Hundred-Eyed Great Sage.]

[You establish a kingdom of insect demons, rally insect spirits from across the land, and sever the karmic ties through which immortals and Buddhas use all living beings as pawns.]

[You raise the Throne of Ten Thousand Insects high and open your hundred Fate Eyes. With your own strength, you pierce the destiny of Journey to the West and rewrite the laws of mutual generation and suppression across the Three Realms.]

Many years later, all the immortals and gods of the Journey to the West world cry out in unison:

“Welcome back, Lord of the Dao of Ten Thousand Poisons, who Shed His Fate with a Hundred Eyes! Venerable Who Illuminates the World Through the Infinite Insect Calamity, Lord of the Heavenly Palace of a Hundred Eyes, Primordial Sage!”
