From Defeated Soldier to Expeditionary Force God of War

Ye Qian was just a deputy squad leader at the rout of Tonggu, building a shield from steel plates to stay alive. Trapped in the wilds of the Gaoligong Mountains, he became a beast who had drunk human flesh soup and carved bloody marks into his helmet. In the purgatory of Ramgarh, he transformed into an elite soldier who earned the respect of American instructors. During the counteroffensive in northern Burma, he led a lone force behind enemy lines and personally killed a Japanese lieutenant general, planting his unit’s flag atop the walls of Wanting. How did one defeated soldier crawl out of a deadly jungle and write the Chinese Expeditionary Force’s most ferocious legend of blood and steel, with seventy-five notches and twelve tally marks?
