I'm the Magistrate of Qiantang County, Is Stealing Lady Bai Too Much?

After transmigrating to the Great Zhou Dynasty, Li Changgeng becomes a seventh-rank magistrate of Qiantang County, exiled there after offending the powerful. From the start, he catches a roc bird abducting a young woman named Yanzhi! He slams his courtroom block, gains the blessings of Great Zhou's destiny, and convicts the divine beast of “daylight kidnapping and trafficking in women.” He rescues Yanzhi and activates the ancient painting, the Beauty Compendium!

The gods and Buddhas fill this world, treating mortals like incense offerings to be harvested and arranging karmic scripts from on high? Sorry, Qiantang County is governed by Great Zhou's laws!

Bai Suzhen wants to borrow an umbrella at West Lake to repay a kindness? She's operating an unlicensed black boat, so confiscate the boat and detain everyone aboard!

Ji Gong wants to roam the mortal world and enlighten people? He's obstructing public order, so haul him off to clean the sewers!

Watch Li Changgeng fight tooth and nail for Qiantang, pulling unattainably lofty demonesses and fairy maidens down into the county yamen to work, trampling the karmic scripts of gods and Buddhas to forge a mortal stronghold where no deity may tread! Which immortal is kneeling in court today?
