Be Good and Listen!

He said, “Wanwan, you're so beautiful.”

I believed him.

From the very first date, when he gripped my waist and criticized my past, I should have known: this wasn't love. It was taming.

He deleted every male friend from my contacts, forced me to apologize in public, and made me kneel in the rain to beg for his forgiveness. He said it was “for my own good.”

I thought that if I behaved, everything would be fine. But after two years of behaving, I had 47 scars on my body. He crushed my self-respect, pieced it back together, then crushed it again. He said, “You should be grateful I put up with you.”

It wasn't until the third time he told me to “start over and become a better person” that

I finally understood. He loved an obedient toy, not me.

I threw my ring into the river, cut the cord, and stopped being “his woman” so I could become myself.

He doesn't deserve me. I deserve to be free.

This time, I'm going from obedient to disobedient.
