The Absurd Misadventures of a Working Girl

To save her gravely ill mother, Lin Yuqing leaves her village to work in the south. On her very first day at an electronics factory, the workshop supervisor sets his sights on her. The 50,000 yuan surgery bill crushes the last of her dignity... A married man's tenderness is poison, while the affection of a decent young man is beyond her reach. Rumors, humiliation at the hands of the wife, and rejection by everyone around her turn her into the factory's despised “homewrecker.” When love clashes with morality, and survival is pitted against dignity, one migrant worker's turbulent years lay bare humanity's deepest struggles and redemption.
