I Deliver Takeout to an Ancient-Day Kindergarten

[Urban fantasy + past and present connected + adorable kids ensemble + hilarious child-rearing + pampered heroine power fantasy]

On the day she loses her job, kindergarten teacher Zhu Manman has just 2.5 yuan left in her bank account, yet she’s forced to accept a food delivery order from another time and space.

Delivery address: the Northern Palace’s Cold Palace kindergarten, Great Sheng Imperial Palace.

She opens the wooden door to the storage room in her rented apartment, expecting to deliver fried chicken. Instead, she finds seven ragged, dangerously hungry children crouching behind it, their eyes gleaming.

The Seventh Prince has a knife. The hostage prince from an enemy kingdom tests the food for poison. The Crown Prince smiles as he digs a trap. The chancellor’s son is figuring out how to kill someone. And the future tyrant is crouched on a roof beam, ready to strangle her.

Looking at this unruly bunch of little terrors, Zhu Manman’s kindergarten-teacher instincts kick in on the spot:

“Confiscate the dangerous items, and line up to wash your hands before eating!”

One order of fried chicken sends the Cold Palace’s little monsters into a frenzy.

They mistake a 9.9-yuan starry-sky projector for an ancient artifact that controls the stars.

When the emperor leads three thousand imperial guards to set fire to the Cold Palace, Zhu Manman hauls out her square-dancing speaker and shakes the entire court into kneeling and begging for mercy.

From then on, the seven most fearsome children in Great Sheng start competing like mad for little red flowers.

The emperor writes an 800-character apology.

The chief minister tries to pull strings with a box of gold, but ends up paying tuition for the whole class.

Powerful nobles line up to meet the immortal teacher, all hoping their children can get one extra spicy strip.

Years later, the seven children once abandoned by the whole world have grown up.

One rules the empire, another commands a million troops, and one has become the most powerful minister in the land.

But no matter how high they rise, whenever Zhu Manman bangs on the food basin

“Everyone, line up and wash your hands!”

The seven big shots immediately put down their weapons and obediently form a line.
