Honkai: Star Rail: Reunited with the Tyrant 999 Times

[Alternate-universe what-if + two female leads + fictional setting + bittersweet angst + soulmates + chasing your wife to the crematorium, literally + rekindled love + BE to HE] Pairing: Hysilens x Cerydra “I swear on my blood to give you a future without me.” Those were the last words Cerydra ever said to me. She died by the sword she had given me herself, at the final banquet she had held for me. Only later did I learn that the banquet was the one thing she had truly wanted to do in thirteen years: spend time with the person she loved most, doing what made them happiest. She promised me a future, yet tore her own soul into twelve fragments. I followed her fragments onto the Astral Express. Each time I recovered one, I could see her again in the Corridor of Fading Echoes. When the last fragment was joined to the others, she stood whole before me. “I gave you the future. What about you? What will you give me?” “I’ll give you an encore. An encore that never ends.” [Her wish was for me to live. My wish was to live alongside her.]
