Grandmaster of the Northern School, Yao Yuzhong

Yao Yuzhong, a legend in the tomb-raiding world, has an extraordinary pair of ears. He can hear the heartbeat of living creatures a hundred meters underground. When he is secretly summoned to survey a massive Tang dynasty tomb, he hears something in its passage that should not exist: the pulse of his father, who died many years ago.
