Eerie Revival: From the Start, My Mom Became the Neighborhood Landlord

[Rule-Based Horror + Resurgence of the Supernatural + Powerful Female Lead + Neighborhood Survival + Heartwarming Ensemble]

Six years after my mother went missing, she paid my property fees.

At midnight, the property management System at Nanpu Old Estate flashed a warning:

[An empty room is not necessarily vacant.] [If the vacancy rate exceeds 7%, empty rooms will actively seek tenants.] [Rent: a name you commonly use; deposit: three memories that someone truly remembers about you.]

When property manager Jiang Mingtang reached Building 4, the entire fourth floor had already disappeared.

And her mother, missing for six years, was standing behind the door of Room 404, smiling at her:

“Mingtang, give me the resident register. Mommy will take you home.”

Only then did she realize that the so-called empty rooms were not monsters.

They were people the city had “sorted away,” people their friends and family had completely forgotten.

To save them, she had to register their names, addresses, and three memories all over again. But with every name she remembered, Jiang Mingtang’s body became more like a corridor leading to countless doors.

When her mother became the neighborhood’s new landlady and the System marked her as an “abnormal source of memories,” Jiang Mingtang could only lead the two thousand residents in reciting their names one by one at midnight.

Because anyone who gives the wrong answer will become the next empty room.
