A Hint of Sweetness in the Gardenia Rain

[Sweet campus romance + misunderstanding-fueled viral post + mutual secret crushes + the whole school watching]

On a rainy-night corridor, Lin Zhimian is secretly filmed, and a video of her "kissing" the aloof campus heartthrob Zhou Tinglan shoots to the top of the school's trending list.

Everyone expects her to be attacked for chasing clout, but Zhou Tinglan snatches the camera and says coldly in front of everyone, "Take the post down. She's not someone you get to gossip about."

From that day on, Lin Zhimian is forced to appear alongside him, share his earphones, and step in to save his livestreams.

She thinks Zhou Tinglan is just being kind, until he shows her an old photo from the campus radio station, taken three years ago.

In the photo, she's reading out a missing-person notice.

And he's sitting below the stage, covered in wounds.

It turns out that the voice she had read aloud without a second thought had stayed with him for years.

But videos secretly filmed of her keep surfacing, scripts get stolen, livestreams are flooded with hateful comments, and even her scholarship is put at risk.

When everyone says she got onstage by riding Zhou Tinglan's coattails, she grips the microphone and fires back with a smile: "I'll make you hear my own voice."

Later, backstage at the school anniversary celebration, Zhou Tinglan corners her in the shadows cast by the lights, his eyes filled with the love he's hidden for three years.

"Lin Zhimian, that time in the rain wasn't a kiss."

"Can we make up for it now?"
