In the Famine Years, I Led My Wild Man to Victory With Logistics

I’m Su He, the strongest logistics officer in the apocalypse, an expert in infrastructure, stockpiling food, and making weapons.

One day, I transmigrate and become a criminal slave with no means of defending myself, at the mercy of others to assign me wherever they want?

Fine. No big deal.

Criminal slaves are assigned to the army. While others fight over weak scholars in search of true love, I scan the crowd and choose the scariest, strongest, most unapproachable-looking muscleman: Xiao Zheng.

He looks at me with disdain. “Women waste food. Trade her for half a sack of coarse flour.”

Everyone laughs. “Hahaha! See? He can't stand you!”

A terrible drought strikes, and everyone is dying of thirst with no water to be found.

Using my geological knowledge from the apocalypse, I find a hidden underground river in the back hills.

He stares at the gushing spring, then looks at me with completely different eyes.

He stammers, “W-who are you, really?”

Bandits raid us at night, and everyone else is wailing for their lives.

I order him to barricade the doors while I hide in the shadows and take out their men with my homemade poisoned arrows.

He gets caught up in the fighting, then turns to me with a blazing look in his eyes.

He grins, covered in blood. “Wife, you're incredible!”

(I complain to myself: Bro, are you sure you're still playing your assigned role?)

Wait, why is this getting weirder and weirder? I just wanted a bodyguard, so why does he look at me more and more like a starving wolf? Help!
