Shadows of the Tang Dynasty: Wu Zetian's Mastermind

After transmigrating to the prosperous Tang dynasty, Lu Chang'an finds himself from the start a condemned prisoner in the Dali Temple, scheduled for execution tomorrow!

With his life on the line, he uses blood for ink and the wall for paper to write “Ten Strategies for Pacifying the World under the Great Zhou.” He accurately predicts every dead end Wu Zetian will face before becoming emperor, as well as the hidden dangers threatening the age of chaos.

By chance, Shangguan Wan'er, traveling incognito to investigate, comes across the entire treatise. Astonished, she makes a rubbing overnight and sends it into the imperial palace.

Wu Zetian cannot sleep after reading it. Deeply shaken, she personally leads the imperial guards to storm the execution ground in the middle of the night and save this unknown condemned prisoner!

Faced with the ultimate temptation of high office and noble rank, Lu Chang'an knows that serving the ruler is like accompanying a tiger, so he politely turns it all down.

From then on, the Tang dynasty gains a two-faced genius. In public, he is a carefree wastrel of Luoyang, a laid-back live-in son-in-law who spends his days enjoying music and pleasure. In secret, he is the shadow grand preceptor who commands the empire’s intelligence network and helps the empress ascend to the throne.

Years later, Li Longji secretly raises an army to seize power, intending to flatten Luoyang and crush Lu Chang'an, the “useless wastrel.”

When Lu Chang'an finally drops his disguise, a hundred thousand shadow cavalry surround the imperial palace, and he holds the empire’s wealth and supplies in his grasp! He smiles faintly. “No one can touch this Tang empire unless I say so!”
