Hunting in the Mountains in the 1960s: Starting with X-Ray Treasure Hunting

In 1961, snowstorms engulf the Qinling Mountains and famine rages. For ten jin of cornmeal, a biased grandmother and uncle plan to sell the protagonist’s five-year-old sister in exchange for food.

In his previous life, Lin Han was too weak to act. He watched his mother get beaten and his younger siblings freeze and starve to death, and regretted it for the rest of his life. Reborn in a new life, he takes up a hatchet and forces his relatives to sign a family separation agreement, severing all ties with them once and for all.

After leaving with nothing, he takes his frail mother, young sister, and a stray dog into the perilous mountains. The whole village waits for his family to freeze or starve to death, ready to laugh at them.

But Lin Han awakens a golden eye that sees through things and a stasis space. He can spot wild boars and rabbits beneath the snow and precious ginseng deep in the mountains, while his space holds a vast stockpile of supplies.

While other families chew bark and swallow coarse grain, his family feasts on fatty meat simmered on a heated brick bed. While others struggle just to fill their stomachs, he uses his x-ray vision to find treasures in ancient tombs, opens up black-market channels, and quietly builds his own fortune, giving a satisfying face-slapping comeback to his jealous, despicable relatives and the whole village.
