Reborn in 1983: A Broken Truck Leads to a Golden Road

In 1983, Zhou Weidong is reborn into the lowest point of his life.

In his previous life, he put blood ties above everything else and let his mother control him while his older brother and sister-in-law bled him dry. In the end, his wife, Xu Lanzhi, left with their daughter, Xiaoman, and lost the child she was carrying. By the time he finally came to his senses, the family that had endured every hardship with him was already gone.

When he opens his eyes again, they're already planning how to divide the family assets at his expense.

This time, Zhou Weidong stands up for his wife and daughter and cuts ties with his family on the spot. He moves into a leaky west-side courtyard with nothing but battered furniture and an old Jiefang truck that's been out of commission for three years.

The whole village waits for him to become a laughingstock. He owes money, his wife is pregnant, and his broken-down truck won't even start. How can he support his family?

But they don't know that this army veteran and former driver has the best skills in his hands.

He repairs engine blocks and brakes, replaces rear axles, and gets scrap metal roaring back to life. He hauls lumber, coal, and local produce, turning one temporary job into a long-term contract. Then he makes money on both legs of every trip by finding cargo for the return journey. When torrential rain triggers landslides, snow seals off the mountain roads, or rivals try to sabotage him, he delivers the loads others won't take, relying on his skills and reputation.

Xu Lanzhi stands by his side, keeping the books, checking prices, sorting cargo, and negotiating deals. One of them grips the steering wheel while the other handles the accounts. Together, they turn their leaky courtyard into a warm home and the truck everyone looked down on into Qinghe County's first transport fleet.

When his biased mother and greedy brother and sister-in-law come to beg forgiveness, Zhou Weidong shuts the courtyard gate.

In this life, he will be a pillar of support for his wife and a hero to his daughter. More than that, amid the surging wheels of the 1980s, he'll drive his family toward a brilliant future!
